In 1949 was baptized under the leadership of our new pastor, Elder James A. Johnson and was filled with the Holy Ghost at age 10. Alexander, Sr., his father, Elder Simeon A. Alexander, and Bishop Henry B. Alexander

.

Pastor Alexander was educated in the St. Louis City and Los Angeles Unified School Districts. Graduated from Los Angeles Trade Tech College after a 2 years course of study in Building Technology. Was called to serve in the United States Army, where he led a medical platoon of 37 men.

He was honorably discharged in 1967. He returned to Los Angeles City College to continue his education. Shortly, thereafter he began course work at Aenon Bible College and Living Word Bible College.

1972 was a very good year. Pastor Alexander married Bobbie Jean Battle and for the last 31 years has lived happily and successfully together. The crowning achievement of this marriage is represented by the children: Angela, the mother of their only grandchild (Brendan Jackson) will graduate December 2003 from Pasadena City College with a degree in Registered Nursing.

Alissia, who graduated in May 2003 from Alabama State University with a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy, also was joined in marriage to Min. Charles Moore during the same month. Arlene, the youngest, will graduate May 2004 from Langston University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.

More than all of these accomplishment, Pastor Alexander is grateful to God that all of children and grandson are baptized in Jesus' Name, filled with the Holy Ghost, and are all working for the Lord. As John said in his letter to Gaius, "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth."

Since 1975 (soon to be 29 years), Pastor Alexander has been employed by the L.A. City Fire Dept. where he has served in numerous positions: Fireman, Background Investigator (in charge of Personal History Unit 3 of 5 years in this assignment), and was promoted to his current position of Fire Inspector in 1995.

Pastor Alexander began in ministry in his teen years at Bethany Apostolic Church under Bishop Robert W. McMurray as a Song Leader, Choir Director, and Junior Deacon. In 1976, he began to teach Sunday School and preach God's Word under the Leadership of his father, Elder Arling M. Alexander Sr. at Bethany of Pasadena. He continued to serve at the Pasadena church under Elder Simeon Alexander until 1990.

He worked for the next five years under Bishop Henry B. Alexander until called to the Pastorate in Long Beach, Ca. In 1995." God has blessed this congregation and His hand has been upon it for the good. I am thankful for the things that God has done in this ministry and look forward to the things that are still before us as we seek to reach the world with the Apostolic Doctrine in these final hours before the rapture."
